Acupuncture points to help sooth your summer travel

Ear seeds applies pressure to specific acupressure points to support health and wellness

Summer is a great time to get outside, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy some well-deserved vacation time. As fun as summertime can be, vacations may also impact the body and bring up feelings of anxiety, stress, or frustration.

Here are some travel-friendly Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupressure tips to support your mind and body. Whether you’re traveling far or enjoying a staycation. Gently press or massage these acupoints on either side for about 3 minutes as needed.

Calm Your Mind

Travel plans got you anxious, stressed, or frustrated? Calm the mind and spirit with Pericardium 6 (PC6). To locate this acupoint, place three fingers—index to ring finger—at the wrist crease on the inner forearm. The point lies where the furthest finger lands, between the tendons in the middle of the inner forearm.

Boost Digestion

Too much ice cream or ice-cold food and drinks can weaken digestion, even during the summer. Support your digestion with acupressure on Stomach 36 (ST36). Locate this point four fingers—index to pinky—below the kneecap, about one finger’s breadth away from the outer side of the shin bone.

Get Grounded

Feeling a little scattered or disconnected? Put your bare feet on the earth for a few minutes, or give yourself a foot massage, focusing on Kidney 1 (KD1). This point is located about one-third of the way from the base of your toes to your heel, in the space between the second and third toes, just past the ball of the foot. Stimulating this area can help you feel balanced and re-centered.

Acupressure can be an accessible and easy way to care for yourself throughout your day and can help you feel your best!
