Do you feel ready for the second stage of labor?
Most birthing people spend time preparing for the early stages of labor focusing on dilation, timing contractions, and managing discomfort. But when it comes to pushing, many are left wondering:
What do I actually do when it’s time to birth my baby?
At Root To Rise, we believe that understanding and connecting with your body, especially your pelvic floor, is essential to feeling empowered in the birthing process. This 2-hour workshop led by Dr. Jenn Gelfand and Alayna Marchessault of The Passage Doula is meant to demystify the second stage of labor and help you approach it with knowledge, confidence, and embodied awareness.
In this workshop, we’ll explore:
How to Push. Learn evidence-based strategies for effective, intuitive pushing.
Optimal Positions for Birth. Discover positions that create the most space in the pelvis and support baby’s descent.
Pelvic Floor Awareness & Protection. Understand how to prepare your tissues and reduce the risk of trauma.
Movement & Connection. Engage in guided movement practices to connect with your pelvic floor and deepen body awareness.
Working with Your Provider. Learn key questions to ask and how to advocate for the support you want during the second stage of labor.
Who is this for?
This workshop is especially beneficial for those in their third trimester who want to feel more prepared, informed, and grounded heading into their birth experience.
In order to preserve the comfort and privacy of participants, this is just for the expecting person, but we promise to you will leave with lots of notes to share with a partner!
Whether you’re planning a medicated or unmedicated birth, hospital or home, this class will support you in showing up for your birthing day with greater clarity and trust in your body.
Come move and learn with us! Because pushing doesn’t have to be a mystery.
