This class is taught by our skilled and compassionate lead acupuncturist, whose deep knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine informs each session. Her intuitive and integrative approach bridges Eastern wisdom and modern wellness, offering a unique opportunity to explore Tai Chi as both a physical and energetic practice.

Intro to Tai Chi: Movement & Mindfulness for Healing

A beginner-friendly series led by our Lead Acupuncturist to help you move with intention, restore balance, and cultivate calm.

About the Series: A Grounded Introduction for Beginners

This Intro to Tai Chi is a 4-week progressive series designed specifically for beginners or those returning to movement after time away. Each class builds on the foundational principles and movements from the week before offering a structured, supportive learning experience.

You’ll develop:

  • A solid introduction to Tai Chi fundamentals

  • Awareness of posture, breath, and flow

  • A deeper connection to your body and its natural rhythm

  • Confidence and calm through accessible, repeatable movements

A gentle start to powerful change.

Class Details

5 week series with a make up class or drop in 6th week on Thursdays 11-11:50am

Dates: 9/25, 10/2, 10/9. 10/16, & 10/23 (make up 10/30)

Format: In-person, small group
Level: Beginner (no prior Tai Chi experience needed)
Location: Root to Rise Studio Scarborough, ME
Investment: $95 for the entire series

While this is a series-based class, drop-ins will be allowed after the minimum number of series sign-ups is reached. This ensures the group container stays strong while allowing flexibility for returning students or curious new ones.

Appointments

We provide 90 minute evaluations and 60 minute follow up sessions that include fully customized care, with plenty of time to truly learn about you, your history, and your unique goals.

Appointments are always 1:1 with your therapist at every visit. We don’t use any aids or techs, allowing for more thorough, comprehensive sessions to help you get better faster.

Your journey starts with understanding your story. Together, we’ll create a customized plan to achieve your unique goals.

Creating a calm, relaxing and healing environment is very important to us. We want you to arrive and feel supported from the moment you walk in our door.
