Restore Balance. Relieve Pain. Feel Like You Again.
At Root To Rise Physical Therapy & Pelvic Health, acupuncture isn’t just about needles—it’s a powerful, time-tested therapy that activates your body’s natural ability to heal. Whether you’re managing chronic pain, hormonal imbalances, or just feeling off, we’re here to help you get back to feeling like yourself again—physically, emotionally, and energetically.
Why Choose Acupuncture at Root To Rise?
Our licensed acupuncturists use a gentle, integrative approach tailored to your unique body and lifestyle. Each session is personalized to address the root cause, not just your symptoms, so you experience lasting relief and real transformation.
An integrative approach to healing.
Our team of experienced Acupuncturists, Physical and Occupational Therapists work together to ensure every Root To Rise patient receives the most comprehensive care. When you become a patient, you benefit from our entire team of passionate and expert clinicians working to help you achieve your goals and feel your best.
What to Expect in Your Session
From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll be met with warmth, compassion, and care. This is your time—to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with your body.
Every session is a collaboration. We begin by listening—really listening—to how you’re feeling, what’s weighing on you, and what’s been holding you back from feeling your best. Whether you’re coming in for pain relief, hormonal support, emotional grounding, or a mix of it all, your treatment will be shaped around you.
Your experience may include:
Gentle acupuncture to help release what’s stuck and restore inner balance
Hands-on bodywork, guasha, and/or cupping to ease tension and encourage flow
Electrical stimulation to support deeper healing when needed
Herbal and lifestyle guidance to nourish you between visits
Each appointment is a chance to tune in, reset, and receive care that honors where you are and what you need most that day. No two sessions are ever the same—because no two people are.
Wondering if acupuncture is the right fit for you?
Every body carries a unique story. That’s why we begin with a thoughtful conversation—so we can truly understand your symptoms, your goals, and how they shape your day-to-day life.

Meet Our Acupuncturists
Carole (she/her/hers) is a nationally certified and licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who began practicing in 2012. Her passion for women’s health has inspired additional training in fertility support, regulation of cycles, pregnancy, and postpartum recovery. She gave birth to her first child in August 2020, an experience that has increased her empathy for all mothers, amazement at the capability of the human body, and advocacy for postpartum care and support.
Her interest in acupuncture began after receiving treatment herself to address acid reflux. She found treatments left her feeling less stressed and more balanced in addition to having improved digestion, and that was an experience she wanted to pass on to others. She is continually fascinated by the theories of traditional Chinese medicine that beautifully articulate the interconnection of our internal systems–each part affecting the whole.
She has experience treating a wide variety of conditions, including pain, digestive disorders, anxiety, and sleep trouble. She has worked in many settings in Massachusetts and Maine, including Boston Medical Center, an outpatient neurosurgical practice, an addiction and behavioral health home, and a private practice. Each setting has offered unique opportunities for growth and human connection.

Acupuncturist
Kristen (sher/her/hers) is a board-certified and Licensed Acupuncturist with a Master of Science in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health and Science. She joins the team after a recent move from Brooklyn, NY, where she worked as an acupuncturist specializing in hormonal health, fertility and pregnancy support, emotional wellness, and pain management at a busy clinic.

Her participation in the PUSH Professionals Perinatal Mentorship provided additional education for treating patients during the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. Specialized education through Memorial Sloan Kettering equipped her with acupuncture skills to support those undergoing cancer treatment and its associated side effects. In addition to Chinese Medicine, she is also a certified Usui Reiki Master Practitioner and loves incorporating aspects of reiki into acupuncture treatments when it aligns.
